Sheikh Habeeb Abdullahi Al-Ilory, the founder of Markaz Arabic and Islamic Training Institute in Agege, Lagos, reportedly suffered a stroke during a Nikkah sermon ceremony in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The incident occurred on Thursday, February 4, 2022, during the Nikkah ceremony of the daughter of former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Alfa Belgore, according to Daily Trust.
According to reports, the Islamic scholar fainted just as he was about to begin his speech. Sheikh Habeeb was then admitted to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital‘s Stroke Unit (UITH).
Confirming this, a top medical officer at the teaching hospital disclosed to the newspaper that the cleric Sheikh Habeeb Abdullahi Al-Ilory, “was rushed to UITH on Thursday and it was later discovered that he suffered a stroke. He is at the Stroke Unit of the UITH.”
