Sinach Becomes First Black Person To Hit Top Spot On US Billboard Chart
Nigerian gospel music superstar and arguably one of the biggest music export from the African continent, Osinachi Okoro, popularly known as Sinach, has become the first African & First Black Person to top the USA’s Billboard Christian Songwriters Chart.
The celebrated Nigerian gospel minister Sinach becomes the first African and Black person to reach number one top spot for American Billboard Christian Songwriters’ category.
Sinach’s Billboard accolades success comes from her 2016 hit single ” Waymaker ”, which has gained massive popularity around the world following performances by The Elevation Worship and other Christian rock bands.
But her Billboard success comes from Leeland’s Waymaker (Live), which pushed her to Billboard Top 10 spot in the US, while another version of the song by Michael W. Smith featuring Vanessa Campagna and Madelyn Berry also lit up the charts.
However, Sinach took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the good news.
