Super Eagles captain and Chelsea FC of England defensive Midfielder John Mikel Obi, says he’s now matured to lead Nigeria team, as he shoulder the responsibility of team leader as Nigeria sought qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The 2016 Olympic bronze winner Obi Mikel, who is known for his childish attitude of not honoring the nation invitation in the past, says he’s ready to put things in place as he has reach maturity stage of his career.
The super eagles captain Mikel Obi made that statement while speaking at the team’s interactive session with the media on Friday in Abuja.
“Sometimes when you are young, you make mistakes but the more you grow up, the more you know the things that are more important. I think that I am beginning to know where I come from and that is more important than anything. I have more responsibility now to lead the country and the team; I think that is what I am doing right now because I enjoy every bit of it,” he said.
