What audacity statement coming from Mavin Records kid Reekado Banks.
In the year 2005 – 2012 D’banj and his Mo Hits Records crew was the biggest acts in Africa and naija music, while he (D’banj) is the crew leader and also biggest music act in Africa.
During their memorable days, it hard for you seeing D’banj, collaborate with others acts in the industry, but ever since this bitter separation with his former producer Don Jazzy, will have seen him collaborating with others acts in industry for him to get relevant in music scene.
Over the past few years, there are insinuation and rumours that he usually lobby to featured in any artists that have monster hit in town for him to be relevant in the game, while those kind of insinuation over the years, has brought the rumours of him collaborating with Mavin Records kid Reekado Banks.
The Headies Awards 2014 ” Rookies Award ” winner Reekado Banks, said that he does not mind having collaboration with his record boss former colleague, D’banj.
The ” Katapot ” singer in his recent interview with Pulse.ng, disclosed that doing a collabo with D’banj, is not a problem but the approval has to be from his manager and again if the singer call him.
In his words,“If D’banj calls me for a collabo I’ll definitely talk to my manager first. It depends on what my manager says.”
He further says that performing with D’banj would sure be a good idea on the facts that he (D’banj) is the one calling him for the collaboration and not him doing the calling.
“Definitely i’d love to do a collabo with D’banj, he’s a good artiste. And the fact that he calls me, not me calling him might encourage me to consider. With the structure of the record label, they have to know everything I do. If he wants to do a collabo with me, why not. It’s not that serious. It’s just music,” he said.
This statement from Reekado Banks, now make me to ask myself that is D’banj, now dead musical for Reekado Banks, to wash him like that or is it a payback time from Don Jazzy and Dr Sid, to wash him over claiming that Dr Sid, separate the Mo Hits Records.
