Former governor of Lagos-State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, were among ministerial nominees that was screened yesterday, by the Red chamber of Nigeria national assembly.
The 8th National Assembly senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, ask him to speaks more about his CV which was submitted, before the senate members ask some him questions as part of the screening exercise .
About few months ago, Raji Fashola, was accused of mismanagement of public fund of him spending N78 million on personal website and N139 million on two boreholes during his tenure has chief-commandeer of Lagos-state.
During his ministerial screening session yesterday, Fashola speaks out on the allegations that he spent N78 million on a personal website and and N139 million on two boreholes during his tenure.
Here is what Fashola told Senate about N78M personal website report :
“I don’t sign cheques. I don’t fix contract prices, State Ministries handle these,” Fashola told the legislators.
‘As the Governor of Lagos State, I don’t sign cheques.’ – Fashola
“Nobody has alleged that I’ve corruptly enriched myself,” the former governor added.
