Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, while speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster allegedly openly criticised Nigerian youths, saying that Nigerian youths are ” only hustling to get on the gravy train ”, which implies that Nigerian youths just want to sit down and do nothing, banking on the belief that Nigerian is an oil-rich nation.
President Buhari who recently announced his re-election for the forthcoming general election in 2019, reportedly said that a lot of Nigerian youths have not been to school and they want everything free. About the economy, we have a very young population, our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. This is a very conservative one,” Buhari said.
“More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil-producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free.”
Angry Nigerian youths upon hearing the statement from their elected President Buhari, fired hot shots at him saying the president had no right insulting the youths, who struggle under very hard circumstances to make ends meet.

Fellow #LazyNigerianYouths we need to vote out this embarrassment of a President. Clueless & ignorant grandpa who should be receiving pensions already. Are you not tired??? How can your President be over 70 years of age? How? What fresh ideas does he have?

Nigerian youths are the most hardworking people you’ll ever meet!
Imagine living and surviving in a country that has no plan for you and constantly tries to make life hard, yet we survive and try to break through.

President Buhari GOOFED on his statements on Nigerian Youths in London. It is actually impossible for one to believe a president would say that about his own citizens, especially without isolating those who work hard and are helping the country shine across different disciplines.

Buhari unscripted is a PR disaster for Nigeria. He told them abroad we’re not welcome because of our crimes, here he told us we’re an impatient people, and now he told them Nigerian youths are lazy. It’s like your Dad telling your potential in-laws you’re an irresponsible person.

“President” Buhari said Nigerian youth do not go to school but want free basic necessities of life.
Commonwealth should choose a place and time, Nigerian youth will bring their school certificates and our president should bring his too.

I am a Nigerian youth and working very hard. I pay my bills and my taxes even when the government does little or nothing to provide basic amenities.
There are many Nigerian youths like me and we won’t be ridiculed by a charlatan of a president.
