The Portugal National team captain, Real Madrid talisman and Four times FIFA Player of the Year winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has sell-off his FIFA Ballon d’Or trophy in order to raise money to support less privilege children to achieve their dreams in life.
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo auctioned his 2013 FIFA Ballon d’Ors trophy for a whopping £600,000 at a charity auction.
The incredible gesture was made by the Portugal captain with every penny raised from the single replica going to the Make-A-Wish charity.
The organisation attempts to grant one wish to young children fighting life-threatening conditions.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ronaldo donated the 2013 replica at a charity auction in London at the weekend.
It was bought by Israel’s richest person, billionaire Idan Ofer, who spent a massive £530,000 to acquire the replica version.
Ronaldo first won the award with Manchester United in 2008, and then a further three times with Los Blancos in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
