The first prime minister and president of independent Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is dead. He died at the age of 95 in a hospital in Singapore on Friday morning.
Rober Mugabe served as first Zimbabwe prime minister from 1980 to 1987 and later served as the country’s first independent president from 1987 to 2017. His death was announced by his successor, President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Robert Mugabe is a founding father of Zimbabwe, a liberator who became a tyrant, presiding over the decline of one of Africa’s most prosperous lands with an iron fist for more than three decades, has died.

He’s the oldest president in the world before he was ouster in 2017, and he’s also the only known president in since independence, in 1980. He’s known for the phrase ‘‘ Zimbabwe Is Mine”.
