The idea of instrumentalists and musicians collection money for service they render to the church of God, rather than doing it for free as part of their service of preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, is one of the major topics discussed among Christian musicians and pastors.
However, pastors and musicians have come out to defend their stands on these issues, but it gets brutal as controversial cleric leader, Pastor David Antwi openly described anyone that plays the church instruments and collects money is a thief.
The general overseer of the Kharis Church, Pastor David Antwi was seen in one of the viral videos that surfaced online recently, saying that instrumentalists who demand money for playing in church as a thief and also referring them as a satanic cousin. “You’re a thief if you play church instruments and collect money.” the pastor said.

However, the statement made by controversial cleric leader has caused an uproar among the Christians kingdom, as one of the most respect Nigerian gospel minister Sammie Okposo, has come out to berate the statement made by pastor David Antwi, on instrumentalist who collects money for playing instruments in the church as a thief.
Reacting in an Instagram post, Sammie Okposo said the pastor’s statement was “uninformed and misguiding”, questioning who ordained him.
“Who is this oh my goodness oh my God who is this please which church is this who is this pastor why why why how can you be making such uninformed and misguided statements????”
