The founder of Living Faith Church, a.k.a Winners Chapel and one of the richest pastor in the world David Oyedepo has described Nigeria as a misplaced priority in the hands of Nigerian government. The religious leader further said that Nigeria needs true change in order for the country to move forward.
The Nation reported that Bishop Oyedepo said insecurity and terrorism appeared to be driving the country back into the precipice. The cleric spoke at the institution’s 12th inaugural lecture delivered yesterday by former deputy vice-chancellor Taiwo Abioye. The theme was: ”The synergy between language, discourse and the media in the construction of realities.”
Oyedepo said:
”Nigeria needs a true change now. Events in the recent past show we are find behind from where we used to be
”You get to certain government cirlcles ; and you don’t understand them because they have turned their own language into official language so much that you simply start looking.
”People simply nod their heads when you are speaking but they don’t understand what you are saying. That shows we’re beginning to do exactly the opposite.
”Nigeria needs to know that the more enlightened the people; the more contributive they become; the more enlightened the people; the more solutions they provide and the more enlightened the people, the more the nation moves forward.
”There is a misplaced priority on the part of our government. They will rather put N50 billion on local government election that is already pre-meditated than put 10 billion into education.”
