5. Riyad Mahrez (£60m – Leicester City to Manchester City, 2018) Hit
Mahrez finally received a transfer to a “Big Six” club in the summer of 2018 when the Manchester club paid the Algerian £60 million, a record fee for an African player, after missing out on a move to Arsenal and having another agreement with City fall through in the January transfer window of 2018.
In his four seasons playing for City under Guardiola, the deft winger has gone on to score 63 goals and create 45 assists, winning seven prestigious awards with City, including three Premier League medals.
Mahrez is set to be handed even more responsibility this season as City strives for their fifth championship in six years because Sterling and Jesus left the club this summer.
