He’s Still the President, But What Next As Donald Trump Impeached As American President?
The 45th elected President of the United State of America, Donald Trump, has impeached in a historic vote by the House of Representatives, setting up a trial in the Senate that will decide if he should remain in office.
The two articles of impeachment were passed by the house congress citing abused his power and that he had obstructed Congress. Although, the impeachment was voted by nearly all the democrats’ lawmakers, while not a single republican voted for either of the article chapters for the impeachment.
President Donald Trump impeached early hours ago, but he’s still the American president because his fate will be decided by the senate comes January next year. But the reality of next year’s impeachment hearing by the senate will not cost him anything, because of the republican control the senate upper house.
How the historic vote went down
- Abuse of power for his effort to withhold taxpayer money from Ukraine and get that country to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden;
- Obstruction of Congress for his refusal to cooperate with the oversight investigation.
