Hey Guys!
If you are among the people who believed that Wizkid revived the career of Duncan Mighty, following the released of their joint collaboration song ” Fake Love ” — guess what? You’re right because of the Port-Harcourt’s first son himself agrees with that school of thought.
The Port-Harcourt based veteran Nigerian musician Wene Mighty revealed this revelation during his recent chat on the set of his upcoming music video with Tiwa Savage, whereby he talks on his collaboration with Wizkid & the Starboy management and Tiwa Savage‘s recent collaboration.
Following the success of his ” Fake Love ” collaboration song with Wizkid, Duncan Mighty has been featured by over 15 artistes including Reekado Banks, Bracket, Burna Boy, Ceeza Milli, B-Red, Peruzzi & Davido, Masterkraft, Tiwa Savage and many others. His overnight success has sparked public debate on social media among music lovers as some section of view believes that his collaborating the younger Wizkid brought him back to the limelight.
However, while speaking to us, he more or less he agreed with the public sentiment saying, ‘I just want to say a big thank you to Starboy Wizkid because after Fake Love, it was a big turn around’, Duncan Mighty said exclusively to us.
He further stated that the relationship between him and Wizkid (as well as a number of other acts) was similar to that of family members and as a result, neither of their respective managements had to get involved in making the song.
‘I always tell everybody that producing a song with Wizkid is not like the usual music business where two artistes come together to do business or those who just want to know you for the music sake. There are few artistes who are like family to me- most of these collaborations are not collaborations where your management needs to go see each other. It’s about visualising the magic which the artiste can bring to the song, and I [only] told Wizzy, “Mehn, this song, na only your voice I dey hear inside the song.” So shout out to Starboy and my crew.’
Duncan Mighty’s impressive 2018 does not seem to be ebbing any time soon and he admittedly is enjoying it all. His track with Tiwa Savage, Lova Lova, is to him, another exciting project he’s had the pleasure of working on.
An elated Duncan said ‘Tiwa Savage is the best in the game. This collaboration is the best after I had fake love, I have had several collaborations after Fake Love but I am so proud of this one. Tiwa gave her best shot at this. It’s a big song and I want to say a big thank you to Tiwa- she deserves billions of accolades.’
