The outgoing governor of Oyo State, Sen Abiola Ajimobi has a petition at the election petition tribunal against Dr. Kola Balogun, PDP’s candidate who was declared a winner by the INEC for the Oyo South Senatorial District.
Gov Abiola Ajimiobi who’s the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) was defeated by Kola Balogun of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 105,720 votes to trump Abiola Ajimobi, who recorded 92,579 votes at the February 23rd general election.
The PDP candidate won with a margin of 13,141, while Gov Abiola Ajimobi is filing a petition at the election petition tribunal in the state.
The African Democratic Party candidate, Senator Soji Akanbi, came third with 49,437 votes. Oyo South Senatorial District comprises nine local government areas.

The PDP candidate cleared Ibadan North, Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-East, Ibadan North-East, Ibarapa North and Ibarapa East and while Ajimobi won in Ibarapa Central, Ibadan South-West and Ido local government areas.
