African’s biggest and most prestigious music award show MTV Africa Music Awards (also popularly known as the MAMAs) might not hold this year, according to report published by an online entertainment tabloid NET.
According to information circulating viral within the entertainment circle in Africa, had it that the highly hyped and packaged Award show will not hold this year, making it a second time in two straight years.
The speculations that the prestigious awards might not hold was made known by Mr. Alex Okosi – creator of the MAMAs, Senior Vice President of Viacom International and Executive VP/MD of BET International. He cited that internal structures are being put in place in a bid to evolve the show.
“We are always looking for opportunities to make the MAMAs happen. We are working hard and we’ve looked at the show in terms of how to evolve it because we do believe that MAMA is the epitome of all award shows… so we are working very hard to make it happen”, he said.
