Barely two weeks ago, a report had it that Davido‘s 2016 blockbuster hit single ” Fall ” is now Nigerian most watched music video on YouTube with 98M views. Without any further ado, the video as hit another record as it becomes first Nigerian music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube.
After an unfruitful international experimented attempt with Sony Music’s Son Of Mercy EP Project, Davido said he’s going ” back to basic ” — meaning that he’d be making music primarily for the local market, and ever since then his career has seen a massive boom since then, with “Fall” becoming his biggest crossover hit in the international scene.
Just a few days ago, Davido’s Fall debuted on Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Songs Airplay Chart, making the Daps directed video gained more three-million views within two-weeks to reach over 100M views on YouTube.
If will look based on the effort that Davido has put into his career in the last few years, we couldn’t think of a more deserving artist to break this record. And from the look of things, the next music video that will reach this milestone is Yemi Alade’s “Johnny”, which currently has over 98 million views.
