1. Jack Grealish (£100m – Aston Villa to Manchester City – 2021) Too Early to Assess
Grealish joined City from Aston Villa last summer, becoming the most expensive British player in history. Even though he assisted City in successfully defending their Premier League title the previous season, he has so far fallen short of expectations at the Etihad.
In 39 games in all competitions, he scored just six goals, but he isn’t the first player to have trouble adjusting to Pep Guardiola’s exacting standards and demanding style of play.
Although it is far too early to label him a failure, he may face intense pressure this season if the goals don’t start to flow right away.
