Mowzey Radio a member of famous Ugandan music group “Goodlyfe” has been reportedly dead. The singer passed on around 6:00 am today at an undisclosed medical clinic in his home country where he was being treated for head injuries sustained from a club fight a couple of days ago.
A reported published by popular Uganda’s Daily Monitor newspaper, reported that the singer was allegedly beaten into a coma at a popular hangout spot in Entebbe town, south of the capital Kampala. Goodlyfe Crew is a Ugandan music group with lead performers being singers Moses Radio and Weasel. Moses Radio provides smooth RnB vocals while Weasel’s contribution is a fusion of reggae, ragga and dancehall vibes.
The report had it that he has since being in the hospital since days now, but eventually lost the fight for his life early this morning. Though, the singer’s death was confirmed via his official twitter handle with a tweet that reads; “The King is gone”.
Celebrities from around the world including; Wizkid and the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni who was said to have donated $8,300 (£5,800) towards his medical bills have sent their condolences.
“I have been told about the untimely death of musician Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio. I had only recently made a financial contribution towards his treatment and hoped he would get better. He was a talented young person with a great future ahead of him. May he rest in peace,” President Museveni shared on Twitter.
As at the time of written this report, five people (including the owner of the bar) have been arrested in connection with the incident.
