The daughter of the late Bashorun Moshood Abiola and Special Assistant on New Media to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Rinsola Abiola who recently dumped the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC) for Action Democratic Party (ADP), has declared her interest to run for Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency in 2019 general election.
According to Rinsola Abiola, she said it took her several months on her decision to run for public office with careful thought and extensive consultations with stakeholders in her constituency. Over the years, Rinsola Abiola has been deeply connected with her people as she spent most of the formative years in Ogun state. She also got most of her education in Abeokuta (primary, secondary and tertiary) and she has voted in her hometown since she became eligible to vote; Ogun Central has always been home.
Dear friends,
I wish to formally notify you of my desire to represent Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda federal constituency in @HouseNGR on the platform of @ADPng in 2019, God willing. #RinsolaForReps pic.twitter.com/eC8aRpZqgt

With her experience as Special Assistant on New Media to Yakubu Dogara in the last three years, Rinsola has gathered a lot of knowledge that will enable her to get to work immediately without needing to first ‘learn the ropes’. She’s an active crusader of the #NotTooYoungToRun campaign.
I have consistently advocated for youth and women inclusion, and I believe that there is no better way to transition from tokenism to meaningful inclusion than to utilise this law by running for office. #RinsolaForReps

Presently, youths & women aren’t represented in the Ogun state caucus of @nassnigeria. This is a travesty. As stakeholders & active citizens, we deserve representation at the highest levels as we also possess the skillset required to bring about positive change. #RinsolaForReps

If elected into @HouseNGR, I pledge to use all legislative tools at my disposal to address the infrastructural needs of Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda LGAs. #RinsolaForReps

As a legislator, my areas of focus shall include healthcare, agriculture, youth and women empowerment and restructuring through constitution amendment. I hope that as always, I can count on your support.
Thank you.
