After several political consultations with Vice-President Prof.Yemi Osinbajo last week Thursday, and Nigeria’s President Muhammad Buhari and national leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday in Abuja, former Akwa Ibom State governor and Senate Minority Leader under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Godswill Akpabio has Resigns from his post.
Early hours of today, Senator Godswill Akpabio announces his resignation from the position he headed as the Senate Minority Leader, in a letter sent to the Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, he said his resignation came into effect on August 4th.
The letter read in part, “This letter is to formally inform you of my resignation as the Senate minority leader with effect from August 4, 2018.
“Let me thank the Senate minority leadership, our distinguished colleagues and our great party, the PDP for the opportunity to lead the caucus in the last three years.
“Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem.”

With the way political permutation is going, it seems that President Buhari and Tinubu are on a mission to impeach Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President, with another highly calculated installation of Godswill Akpabio as Senate President. A report has already had it that Godswill Akpabio will be officially announced as the member of the ruling party this Thursday.
“You remain the father of the nation, our father and political father to all. Just like I told Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Osinbajo yesterday in Nigeria… Those who think that they have politically grown to insult you will all regret it before month end, sir. I am here (London) to register my undiluted love and unalloyed support to you. I was involved in all their meetings and I know what their plans are. The long recess of NASS is going to be your advantage and not theirs like they thought and planned”- Senator Godswill Akpabio to President Muhammadu Buhari.
